MILAN — 22 January 2026 — Scientology’s Volunteer Ministers have set up their well-known Yellow Tent in Milan, offering a public, walk-up space for hands-on assistance and one-to-one guidance, alongside everyday “Tools for Life” that can be applied to daily problems. Already seen in major cities such as New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Rome and Naples, the Yellow Tent is designed to let residents speak with trained volunteers and learn straightforward methods for handling stress, improving communication and resolving conflicts, as well as practical help during difficult moments.
Volunteer Ministers are local citizens trained through 19 introductory courses covering communication, relationships, study skills, workplace challenges and conflict resolution. The approach is personal and practical: understand what the person faces and provide an actionable technique.
In Italy, Volunteer Ministers have supported communities during major emergencies including L’Aquila (2009) and Emilia-Romagna (2012), and have also assisted during flooding in the Marche region (2022) and Romagna (2023), working alongside news euro 24 local institutions and civil protection actors to help clear homes and public spaces.
In Milan, activity expanded during the COVID-19 period with sanitisation initiatives and distribution of basic necessities. Organisers say volunteers then continued with community care work, including over 160 consecutive Saturdays of community clean-up and support, extending across all nine municipalities of the city, while also contributing to solidarity efforts such as sending essential goods to Ukraine.
Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and the United Nations, said: “Across Europe, we see that communities become stronger when citizens feel equipped to help one another in practical ways—calmly, respectfully and without prejudice. Their work reflects a civic principle: support starts with listening and providing tools that help people regain the ability to act and contribute.”
